Helpful Tips
You may find it helpful to print this web page for easy reference as you follow the procedures below. Note, however, that it may take many pieces of paper to print this entire web page. Advanced users may want to use "Print Preview" to determine which pages apply to you so you can limit your printout to those pages.
Note that the stand-alone versions of Netscape Navigator may have different version numbers than the Netscape Communicator program group. For example, the stand-alone Netscape Navigator program version 6.2 was released about the same time as the Netscape Communicator 4.78 update (a program suite that includes Netscape Navigator).

Netscape Navigator version 4 (Windows) |

If you use Netscape Communicator version 4 (the Navigator browser is part of the Netscape Communicator suite), follow these directions to make Picture Surfing Web Sites your startup (home) page. These instructions are based primarily on Netscape Communicator version 4.7 and are believed to work for other 4.x versions but are not guaranteed. If you need additional help, try clicking on the Netscape "Help" menu and selecting an item such as "Help Contents" or "Netscape Handbook".
How to Change Your Startup (Home) Page
SIMPLEST PROCEDURE
- Go to the web page you want to make your start page ( http://PictureSurfing.com ).
- From the "Edit" menu (near the upper-left corner of the window), select "Preferences".
- In the "Category" column on the left side of the "Preferences" window, click on "Navigator".
- Look to the right under "Navigator starts with" and make sure "Home page" is selected (you may need to click in the little circle).
- Look down under "Home page", and click on the "Use Current Page" button (if you don't see the button, or this procedure does not work for you, continue with the alternate procedure below).
- Click "OK".
RESULT
- The web page you were viewing when you started this procedure will open up automatically when you start your web browser (connect to the internet) or when you click on the "Home" button (near the top of the Netscape Navigator window).
ALTERNATE PROCEDURE
- Follow Steps 2 - 4 above (from the "Simplest Procedure").
- Under "Home page", in the rectangular box just to the right of the word "Location", delete the current address and then type in "http://PictureSurfing.com" (without the " ").
- Click "OK" .
RESULT
- The web page that you typed into the "Location"box, for example, "http://PictureSurfing.com", will open up automatically when you start your web browser (connect to the internet) or when you click on the "Home" button (near the top of the Netscape Navigator window).
